Here is a you tube clip of the DVD which Eric has just lent me. It tells the tale of the origins of MTBing…..its essential viewing

Its all about Shutter Speed

From Eric Cheeky Ride 10th April 2010

A couple of shots from a cheeky Saturday ride this last weekend. I have finally sorted out the right shutter speed setting (1/30th sec), coupled with a panning motion. Got it wrong a few times – just check out the piccies on Picasweb.

Despite  indications earlier in the week to the contrary, we ended up with a healthy turnout

A really beautiful evening, with a memorable heady aroma of mist, forest and moorland.

Chazza was finally clear of snow ….but very chunky on the rocks

Luc brought a supply of his mum’s legendary fruit cake for a Cat & Fiddle refuelling stop

Rendezvous with Kersh at Cumberland brook

From TNR 08-04-2010 End of the Winter

Church House was the only fitting destination for a finish…full of the Sutton Mafia and good beer (Copper Dragon, Old Peculiar, London Pride)

3pg 😉

A Butty & TJ production with bus assist

Brilliantly novel route – but the muddiest urban ride ever

Butty led from the front at pace!

Hundreds of frogs

Lots of nervous moments but no-one actually ended up in the canal!

Chinese buffet is just what hungry bikers need

From TNR 25-03-10 Mad for it

Chinese beer – like lager but has a taste!

Ride home provided a complete alternative – oh for student days again!!!

2 Wagon Honks (to Mawds entrance onto M6)

1 Winner (Dan!)

27 miles from Poynton

From Karting March 18th 2010

Notes

A Big Dan production brought out the Schumachers (or Stirling Moss in Mawd’s case) in all of us!

Heats of 4 on a tight track with little passing opportunity led to interesting tactics!

A racing incident led to the leading two finalists being black flagged leaving Dan to romp home a winner.(Photo below is El Pud just after dismissal)

From Karting March 18th 2010

Plastic pub served suprisingly good food and beer 🙂

Good to have the Mawds along

Who else felt a pang of guilt for not cycling …?

the summer commuting league scoring replaces lighting geekery conversations

How did we end up discussing dog washes?

Which corners were trickier – karting circuit or Warrington roundabouts?

From Karting March 18th 2010

9 degrees at midnight – tropical!

1 Puncture – E

1 Off – Butty

2 Spoke Failures –Stunt & Salad Dodger

Notes:

1 RV but two rides as the Cheshire Cat Sportive looms large for some

Skinnies have a slow start with puncture before Tesco underpass!

Each group spots the other as knobblies descent off Kerridge – no chance of stealth with modern lighting!

The long descent down the A54 proves troublesome for Butty and Stunts rear wheel!

PTD caught downhill off teggs nose by the gravity decent brigade

Groups seamlessly reassemble at the Bate Hall

From TNR 11-03-10 Mass De Bate Hall

Hobgoblin, Pedigree, Marstons & Peroni wash down hearty portions

The joys of a short ride home 🙂

Did the axis get wet after their stay???

Good to see Kersh back – still no inner tubes in his bag though 😉 only pain pills!

Unusual route – worked nicely

From TNR 04-03-10 Bolly to Bowstones

Sloe Gin & Cake at Bowstones

El Pud identifies the nasty rut the hard way (TJ relieved to discover that the light was alright!)

A parting of the ways in the park – but soon reunited in the miners arms

Good food, Duchars but the axis thwarted by bar closing at 10:30!!!
