Route : Back Eddisbury Lane meet-up and a Forest circuit, finishing at the Leathers
Notes :
Croxy had a plan for a post ride al fresco pizza and beer – to be delivered to Teggs as we finished our ride.
Alas . It didn’t happen . Despite teeing them up the previous night, and sorting out all our Pizza choices as we paused at the top of the Zag , when he rang up they could not do it – driver shortage !
So …The Leathers was an excellent Plan B, and they did not let us down !
But by the time of this change of plan ….Butty was almost at the cat and had brought his own beer .
As we gathered at the top end of charity the view to the West was lit by the setting sun sending fantastic shafts through the cloud. 7:26pm Sunset …..the autumn is drawing near
John dropped his water bottle on charity, and I , as back marker , had already collected it before I got his call.
I dropped my tyre pressures a bit too much for chazza . At forest chapel I had to dig out my pump and add some to my rear tyre . Much to the amusement of the crew.
Quite a few out and about in the forest. That cheeky left hand route off the downhill course was very good, especially the less steep bits .
Brilliant light post sunset ? as we snaked our way down through the trees .
Fine quaffing at the Leathers : Landlord, Neck Oil and some “Red Beer” .
Cold descent from the Leathers. Glad to have my down jacket to don . 9.3c at midnight
