Notes :
Glimpses from another enjoyable evening messing about on bikes:
The route from the Maze to Kerridge is becoming a familiar routine
We rode/ walked / rode higher lane . The fated gated section is not supposed to be cycled. The crew observed my request ? to honour this.
There was a “missing phones theme “ this week . Charlotte had texted me the news that Chris had left his at the Presidential Palace before I left Gleave Ave.
Butty thought he had left his at home but his checks with Nick ( via TJ) revealed the missing phone wasn’t obvious at home. So he disappeared off with the words “can’t find it without two factor authentication “ .
Leaving us at jumpers lane with his Grappa and some plastic shot glasses. Oh dear .
We had a bench to rest on. It was a pleasant evening to be outside. We lingered. Our original objective had been to climb the closed Macclesfield to Kettleshulme road and then up to Sponds.
But we were already at almost 8pm … and lingering here in Rainowlow with in ride refreshment seemed an attractive proposition.
When we decided it was time for the pub the descent of blaze hill was considerably colder .
We arrived as the Nancies began to arrive. They had been over at three shires with car assist . I was glad I had booked us a table before hand and sent in our food order .
Good news. We learn from TJ that butty has found the location of his phone. Soon after he appears in the pub . … & his beef & ale pie was retrieved from the oven .
It is a good bit of customer service here.
He had managed to locate his phone just off the middlewood way , near sugar lane . Some kind soul had placed it on the wall of the bridge over the MWW.
The A of E this week was just me & Pontius from the Nancies . Is this a TNR first ?
