Route : BL – Zig Zags – Charity and loads more in the forest – Sutton Hall
Statistics : 1 drone, 1 very dry Macc Forest, a lot of ups and downs
Conditions : Dry, Sunny, Dusty and Warm . Cool on Exit of SH.
Notes:
I do love it when Paul takes us on a guided tour of the forest …to bits we have not seen in a long while ….
Here is my recollection of our route :
Part way along Charity then….
Cheeky stuff with what is now a really long track through the trees and bomb-holes to the Forest Chapel end of Narnia.
After finishing off Charity (but not adding the extension) we made a welcome return to the Dentist Descent ..quite overgrown now,
the bridge has been nicked by the rangers (no doubt)
and the end was a sea of bluebells .
Road climb to Standing Stone.
Towards new campsite but not quite .
Turn left to discover new cheeky trails over the wall . Down to n@ture re5erve.
A drone is spotted in the sky overhead – are we being watched ?
Climb the steep ascent to Nessit and then down via
the “Kershaw descent”
We came out into a treeless bit and then worked our way down and out by the Leathers.
Here we bump into a young Fellbaum, taking the air and sipping ale. We stopped for a chat.
Our final destination ..Sutton hall
Wh0re-garden and other stuff were quaffed, and Croxy and Dunc-the-herald-of-the-Ribaldry-Zone joined us to make merry and celebrate the evening.
An excellent TNR.
Our thanks to PTD for a fun circuit
