TNR 9th June 2016 : A long way to flow – but worth it !

TNR 9th June 2016

Words by: committee, edits by Pete
Pics: Butty

Crew: Butty, Dunked, El Pres, PTD, MRI.
Stats : Sheep in a bush
Route : Sutton gamekeepers meet. Ryles food order. Barlow Hill. Swythamley, Under hanging stone, Back forest ridge. Hanging stones. Sneaky footpath to Dan bridge.
Conditions: lovely

El pres is globalising; original meeting point of Ptd home was changed to the lamb Sutton. Paul seemed to be keeping us away from his homestead. Perhaps Emma wasn’t pleased that we have had his pleasure for the last three weeks. Or perhaps he’s just a nice considerate guy.

Tight unit made good progress up to back forest. Techie climbing tested all riders with a few dabs and pushes.

TNR 9th June 2016 Some "men" padded up while funkydunk disappeared into the distance on his rigid. Dry exciting flowing ridge ride with much rock dodging. Memories of a great picnic with Dan came flooding back when reaching the hanging rock - "we must have a G&T as first drink in Dan's honour".

Down to sneaky naughty footpath passing close to farmstead. "No talking, keep tight" was the instruction but several of us were hardly in stealth mode with day glow shorts and sweet clicking hubs by Syntace & Hope.

Ptd's cheeky route had north shore, roots, rocks and steep interesting sections coming out at river "Dan". Instantly recognised by the rest of the group with an "Ahh - this is were it comes out". Bit of trail maintenance to clear the way for future expeditions and a rather ambitious step chute.

Road slog had Butty bonking. - Too much riding during this fine weather period!

Arrival at Ryles was inviting with the promised G&T toast to Marvellous Dan, greyhound skirts, good rump and great food.

Talk of justice, breast feeding, manhood enhancement and no mention of tyres or forks.

Very busy pub was suddenly empty by 10.30 and all ours. Perhaps we upset someone ?
