Notes:
A “mini victory” evening where the weather improves nicely for the evening 🙂
Much Oooing and Aaahing over Butty’s new Germanic Metal – raw aluminium finish (who needs paint!), odd but effective 27.5/26 wheel sizes, C*ck chopper rear shock linkage/action!?, tools built into the maxle, clever cable grippers and routing….soo much geekery!
PTD has returneth and cracks the whip – up to Teggs with some summitting in mind for later.
Layers shed as clear skies later doesn’t yet mean its cool enough to climb in more than a long sleeved jersey.
Dry and grippy on your choice of left or right tracks, new parking markings on the road to the forest.
Quiet and echo’ey on the long drag to Nessit, great views in the fading red light, our own lights on for the next climb to shutlingsloe.
Bats buzzing for insects over head, bikes left at the base of the “mountain”, Lemonchello and cake a the top 🙂
A couple of MTB lights head across pigford moor to the two sided valley below.
Back of the moon – gets Butty’s new bike properly muddied in, damp dewey grass on the descent. RHS in great condition, fire roads also eerily quiet and greening nicely, final thrash delivers sidewall leakage for dunc.
Also quiet in Sutton Hall, excellent choice of beers, food and service – serving staff almost trip over PTD’s back stretching on all fours!
All that climbing makes for hungry bikers, bad case of puddings (or even cheese for two – for one!), forest gin, neat with ice and lime…Hmmm nice.
Cool ride home.
