Words by Eric.
Crew: PTD, Doog, Coley, Eric
Route: BL, Black Road to Coley’s house, Zig but no Zag, Teggs Nose by the side entry, Bottom reservoir, Reverse Nessit, Shuttlingslow slabs, Back of the Moon, RHS descent, middle forest climb and singletrack to reservoir, Rob’s bench, Leathers Smithy.
Conditions: Warm then getting a little chilly for the ride home. – Trails just nice !
Stats; PTD spectacularly head plants in a peat bog on the way to the Back of the Moon
Notes:
Eric approved crew size, as most of the peloton was up an alp. Coley gets personal service.
Last “lights free” Teggs Nose passage of the summer, although it was pitch black in the woods. There was also a strong smell of herbs around the reservoir.
Slow progress due to hopalong Dewhurst – the decision not to go to TMB being fully vindicated.
Trails riding superbly with a little damp on firm ground; except for the bottomless peat grough which swallowed PTDs front wheel without any warning. The full face helmet proves it’s worth.
With the crew as assembled PTD became increasingly concerned that he would be eating alone – not a TNR first to be relished. However everyone committed to keep Paul company with just a quick one. Whilst an axis of evil didn’t develop a merry group were last to leave !
