Very hot climb to fourways.
Speed moderation as descend to the ship inn where we collect Dr S. last week the landlord was remonstrating with us 🙁
Hot and humid. Trails still dusty despite thunderstorms . Rooty climb from ludds church to roach end ….beautiful evening light on the evergreens . Just a bit too much of a carry up to roach end….
But the ride into the dipping sun as we headed for the picnic spot made it all worthwhile. An excellent point to stop for buttes.
My thanks to graham, Paul and Mr I for donations of butties and pizza . And Paul again for another of his summer series of cocktails.
Butty was still feeling a bit damaged, I was feeling a bit jaded…so we skipped the river trail back to wincle . That hill never gets any easier but light of that “just past sunset” part of the day was beautiful.

The Ryles was quiet, but the staff as attentive as ever. Joe was waiting for us , checking the lager was cold enough. The leather sofas were just the resting place after the evenings ride.
