Crew : Pete, Eric, Rob Da Guide ;-), Kersh, 3sheds, (Big Events) Bernard, El Presidente

Route: “The Rough Guide” to Delamere Forest .

Notes: A two hour full-on mud fest. Excellent singletrack. A kamikaze squirrel almost took out 3sheds. To say that some tracks were “a smidgen overgrown” would be an understatement (hence the title). I have learnt since that Rob was using us to clear the singletrack of undergrowth for the normal(?) Delamere Crew’s next Monday evening ride.

Good nosh and beers in “The Forest View”

A big thank you to Rob for being our guide (But we will have our revenge in Macc Forest)!

A very damp (underfoot) whizz around Macc Forest with Luc. No cheeky pint in the St Dunstans !

Drunkcyclist goes solo…..with its own webserver !

Yes, the salad dodger’s inner geek has been fully realised. Drunkcyclist “the next generation” (TNG) has become a reality. This is being beamed to you from a moderately organised garage in Tytherington.

What has happened to the current “Drunkcyclist” I hear you ask ?

Well for the moment – nothing . Its still here and I have plans to migrate everything across to the new platform .

Any questions ….email me.

TNR 2008_08_07 Gradbach-ish & Returm to Sutton Hall

Crew : Lloyd, Kersh, PTD, Shaun, Ian, Croxy, Phil, Eric, others? (G could not remember !)

Pictures : Courtesy of Eric’s Blackberry

Route & Notes : Standard road ride up to Swythamley. Onto moors and along climbing singletrack over towards the roaches. NEW section never been ridden before, footpath down to through woods to ford at bottom of Gradbach Wood. Fine bit of Kersh route pioneering (independent verification of this statement is still pending). Very nice new single track. Croxy came a cropper and twisted his ankle, squeeled like a beeaatch he did…

Future ideas : Combining this with the single track back to Dane bridge would make very nice and very long trail.

All made it across the ford (water was low !!)

Past the Youth Hostel and road climb up to farm at top of the hill back towards Rose & Crown. Gated trail across top of the hills. Road past Crag Hall and up to Standing Stone car park. Single track down right hand side of road where Lloyd had a good off on a root. Lots of cursing about poor lighting as dusk was falling.

Road back to Sutton Hall.

Big News : The burgers in the Sutton Hall are TWICE the size of the burgers in the Poachers but not quite twice the price.£10.95 to £6.95. Better value for money though beer is expensive. Very nice place and will take orders until 10pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gonna give the Church House some very stiff competition.

Weather: Warm & dry despite a shocking weather forecast. Some of the trails were very wet and slippy.

Eric's Blackberry was used to take this !
