With fatigue from four days of riding on the Coniston weekender, TJ on LEJOG and Lee riding in Italy, plus a wave of lurgy and impending rain…even the E assisted could not muster the energy for a ride!
For those who initially voted to ride a whatsapp game of chicken developed to see who would be the last to bail and leave at least one rider to fly the flag?
In the end Alex volunteered to do a Kerridge solo loop and allow eveyone else a “night off” . With the KTM out of action with a BB replacement needed, the tubby tyred rigid Marin was brought into action for a lap of Kerridge – up Endon House ascent, Lidgetts, back of Kerridge to North Farm, up “under Nancy”, back up Redway lane to the top of Endon House for a rare descent, then back past the farm to the Canal and Tythy.
El Pres also alleged a ride – with a pic of him at the bottom of the zag at 6pm – 20 minutes after he declared a bail! Croxy spotted him going past – but does an extended ride to get noodles really count??
Despite the weather coming in, both enjoyed mild and dry conditions and were home before the rain.
