Weather : Not as damp as we feared, cold, Snowy at Chazza. Torrential on the way home.

Notes:

It seemed fitting that we should celebrate our esteemed leader’s 59th Birthday at our spiritual home in the forest …The Leathers.

Chris had done an excellent job with the logistics planning, but the weather wasn’t boding well.

It seems that after an exceedingly cool but very dry April (13mm rain only) we have had all the missing rain falling in the first week of May.

Fortunately , in the end the ride was not excessively wet.

The crew size was only three at MC muster point, but we picked up Dunc at Windyways , and the E-Butty at Walker Barn.

By Charity it was gently snowing. Global Warming is my bet .

Half way down to Forest Chapel , we ducked into Narnia. I had forgotten just how much  I like this section ..it just flows beautifully I was following Chris, and he took some good lines down the steps.

Onward down Hardingland and I have decided this way down through The Forest is the best .

We wind back up and make a little excursion to “Corner View” where El Presidente bestows upon us ready-mix G&T , and home made Rocky Rd. We are blessed.

The Leathers was, as always, excellent but there was an excess of “Covid ventilation” to the marquee. Not their fault, just Cheshire East nonsense .

The food and service were excellent , but it was a little chilly.

Fortunately  it was an excellent turn out …with a rare appearance by El Pud.
