Weather : Fine , chilly North Wind in the Wildboarclough Valley
Notes (courtesy of El Pud) :
- Steve F – Mostly on foot. Had he used all available time, on a pro-rata basis would have beaten at least 3 of the cycling teams!
- PtD & Phil – A good result despite spending 25% of available time stationary. Had daylight advantage. £800 quid’s worth of it.
- Pete & Luc – Punched below their weight. Catalogue of excuses.
- Croxy – Failed to capitalise on solo advantage. Machette may have been useful for obscure direct route through Macc Forest
- Big Nic & Billy – Avoided major injury to claim title of best all-male pairing.
- Palmer & Son – Disadvantaged by unsuitable bicycles. Young lad was on a bike still too big for him. Dad was on a girl’s bike.
- Kersh & Big Dan – Flakey route choice (no real surprise there). Cycled at least twice as far as all other teams for little reward pointswise.
- Mr & Mrs Pud – Suprisingly both bikes were functional to the end. Post race route choice analysis revealed scope for further optimisation.
- Eric – Flawless organisation. Watch out Fat Pat…..

Notes 2 (courtesy of Salad Dodger) :
- Another classic event thanks to Eric. The real beauty of it was that there was no “obvious” route to success.
- Excellent Service, beer and vittels provided by our hosts in the Leathers Smithy. They even agreed to dim the house lights so that we could do a “geek illuminosity test” of the variety of lighting equipment on display.
