words and pics by Pete . The photos are my “stock images” , sympathetic to the route but not taken on the night.
Crew : El Pres, PTD, Coley, Troll, 3sheds and Pete
Pub: Dunc
Route :
BL, Zig & Zag, Chazza & Extension, Standing Stone, Nessit Hill & Dan’s Bench, Diverse routes down (fire road & downhill track) , Langley, Ye Olde King’s Head
Conditions : Cool & Dry.Lots of standing water
Stats: An increasingly rare scenario : 26in outnumbers 27.5in (5:1)
Notes :
I must confess that I like it when PTD is not feeling well – it is a rare occasion when I can beat him up the hills 🙂
It was a short , nostalgic but satisfying circuit of Macc Forest .
Satisfying for me because it was the proper debut of my rebuilt 26in wheels on Stan’s Arch Mk3 Tubeless Rims.
What a ride transformation ! Could wax lyrical more on this topic but you are not worthy
Satisfying for El presidente because he was reminiscing about the “early days” when a TNR was indeed just a short circuit of forest followed by a couple pints in Ye Olde King’s Head…and (no doubt) the world was all in black and white 😉
El Presidente dials the pub from the top of the “Zag” and asks the young lady barmaid “what have you got on?”
The pub itself has a resident Black Lab , who takes a liking to attempting rehydration from Pete’s Camelback
