Notes:
From about Tuesday I began to think “the weather is so good its time for a …..Forest BBQ”
El Pres was already on the case, and all we had to do was cast our vote by Whatsapp.
Wonders never cease but yours truly was the first to report for duty at BL .
Paul must be closer to the next big milestone than his youthful demeanour leads us to believe – he has an “E-bike” . A Charge Cooker hard tail with 27.5 plus tyres in a fetching shade of blue. With a bolt-on Chinese DIY motor/battery/controls kit.
Despite the urge to stop and inspect it all we managed to get going up Buxton Rd . By the time we had got to the end of the Zig Zags it was definitely warm !
PTD, however, was hardly drawing breath as the benefits of a 48V little motor were being sampled to his delight. And everybody else’s slight jealousy
By the time we got to the start of Chazza it seemed we were experiencing a degree of congestion – don’t these interlopers know it is “our” forest?
The cheeky woods bit was surprisingly boggy – despite the warmth and dryness elsewhere. The light through the trees as we got to the Narnia track was exquisite.
Much messing about in the forest, and then up on The Back Of The Moon to appreciate the sundown .
By the time I wound my way up to the original BBQ spot Chris et al had collected the beer and our bounty from the wonderful Charlotte. She will have her reward in heaven !
Poppadoms and pickles
Little salads to be dodged
Bhajis to be munched
And three or four curries with rice and Naans a plenty
All washed down with the beer of choice – Punk IPA, or lager for the infidels.
Dunc and Biggus turn up with some fine Highland Park to celebrate his half century.
The stars are up, the space station easy to spot and the banter and camaraderie speed us easily to the witching hour .
If Heineken made TNR Campsite Curries……
