Notes :
Lucas and Pete first to rendezvous 28BL 6:30 on the dot !
It has been at least a year since we have had the pleasure of Mr Mollan’s company
Much banter over PTD’s new steed…he has finally gone all 650B …fully tax deductible 😉
So we finally got going up Buxton Rd about 6:50 !
It feels good to do the Zig Zags and the rough track in the relative dry and in good daylight .
We bump into a small posse of WNB’s as we reach the lane up to charity. Andreas was riding a Pace 853 Steel hardtail, the boy has taste.
Lucas was impressed as we interrupted our trip up chazza and hopped the fence to do a “half Narnia” .
It was a bit more boggy than expected but still induced big grins all round.
By the time I got to the bottom of the Chazza Extension (which recently, BTW, has become seriously gnarly ) Paul had his new steed upturned with his first flat 🙂 ….Tubeless is the agenda soon now doubt.
But the tyre faff had an “up side” …it allowed Coley to pop out of the bottom of the Chazza Extension and join the peloton.
It was breezy and coolish by Standing Stone so we headed for Nessit and then a cheeky off piste route under the trees (thanks to Paul) . It was a perfect set of conditions .
In no time at all we were at Bob’s bench for a PTD supplied “Whiskey Mac” to remind Luc of the refined nature of our Thursday night excursions.
Sutton Hall was as hospitable as ever.
