Words & Pics by Pete
Crew: PTD, TJ, Slim, Bernard
Route: BL, Zig Zags, Back Eddisbury Gate Lane, Bull Hill Rendezvous, Chazza, Singletrack to Narnia, Forest Chapel, Dentists Descent Mk1 , Road climb to Standing Stone, Nessit Bench , Downhill Course, Rezzies, Sutton Hall
Conditions: Dry & Cold, a light breeze from the south, loads of hoar frost and icy bits (to keep it interesting), part muddy and part frosty grip
Stats: Nothing significant
Notes:
Seventeen last week dwindles to just four of the faithful for the last ride of 2016.
And the excuses for no-show come thick and fast …
– Man flu
– Stiff Neck
– Being “otherwise engaged” in Rome
It’s a good job there is a hard core of trustworthy souls to keep the flag flying
And they took pity on me to agree to a rendezvous at the top of Bull Hill .
Bernard gets his seventh ride of 2016 in, fresh from a seven mile walk already that day
A bit of stargazing as its a lovely clear night : the shopping trolley.(The plough you heathens) ..the Plaedes….Cassiopeia…Orion …Venus, Mars.
Paul takes us on a tour of the “Dentist’s Descents” …it would have been “The Dentist’s Descents : Director’s Cut” but we ran short on time 🙁
We saw no-one else until our descent from Nessit via the downhill track and the rezzies loop …where I encountered Chris Jones and a couple of his mates who asked me about “keeping the faith” on a Thursday night . With a clear conscience I said it had been a good year for maintaining the tradition, from my perspective.
