Words by Pete, Pics by Pete and Dunc
Crew: Slim
Pub : A good smattering of WNB, Dunc
Route: RB, Lidgetts, Messing around Kerridge Ridge, Waulkmill Wood, Ingersley Vale, Poachers Snicket, Beeston Brow , The Poachers
Conditions: Brighter, no rain from above but plenty on the ground.
Stats: One blast of Vintage Led Zep 1980 Soundboard bootleg (on Minidisc! ), one indulgence of Bob Dylan 1983 Infidels Outtakes (iPhone),
Notes:
Another TNR where the rain gods are playing with me, and the rest of the world is on holiday or has cried off.
3sheds was to join me but the M6 conspired against this plan.
I stood at the entrance to my garage for a while studying the Rain Radar app. Eventually about 7pm it stopped..so I saddled up for a solo tootle with some retro personal stereo as company.
There is an upside to riding on your Todd – being able to try out different camera apps on my iPhone. With no whinging from anybody else being held up by my photo indulgence.
Messing about on Kerridge ridge at your own pace is another benefit.
After a gratuitous ascent of the Beeston brow the Poachers beckoned.
There I decide that “fraternising with the enemy” was permissible if your normal crew had deserted you for the evening. Quaffing and noshing with the WNBs is not a bad second best.
Until Dunc arrives to save me from becoming a fully paid up member.
