Words by Slim, Pics by Slim & Butty
Crew : TJ, Mr I, Pete, Butty
Joining us in the Poachers: Dunc
Route : Messing about on Kerridge and Oakenbank
Conditions : Fine and dry
Notes:
A small-ish , elite team to celebrate TJ’s imminent birthday.
It was a 3 plus 1 affair as Slim’s start was delayed once again by his need to earn a living in Warrington.
Mr I seems to have a renewed vigour about him…he had a significant lead over Butty the batty as they climbed the Kerridge bridle way to rendezvous with Pete.
But maybe it was the “cake payload” that our butty was carrying ?
At the apex of Oakenbank we found the ideal spot for the toast. TJ then produced a 5star tipple to celebrate another year of progressing towards the bus pass. A fine Glenlivet, replete with a flask of ice cubes.
Butty valiantly attempted to light the novelty musical candles but only proceeded to burn his finger on the match 🙂 as it was just a bit too blowy.
As the sky turned orange over winter hill, and a hint of Autumn could be sensed in the air, the refreshing dram gilded our descent to the Poachers.
If Carlsberg made birthday toasts……
