What’s this…El Pud back, routemeistering around the edge, Doog & Coley…
It could be 2009 all over again!
Darkness has not quite descended as we gather near riverside park, we cruise responsibly past the last of the dog walkers and make good time along the hardpacked bollin trail.
El Pud takes us on an unscheduled cross country route to take advantage of conditions, its new territory, great fun (watch out for wheel eating dips in the grass). Snicketty singletrack, dusty climbs and rooty descents take us deep and deeper into the dark woods. Wonderment at the conditions – a good plan this 🙂
Even better a celebratory stop for Courvoisier and gourmet sausage rolls with mandatory mustard.

Wildlife I spy urban edition required for the smoking Yooufs
Dunc catches up on his shiny GIANT crosser (its disappointly normal sized)..(I’ll get my coat)
More unerring directional confidence from El Pud takes us down a favourite descent, Dunc blasts up swiss hill but half way finds gearing may not be as effective as the heavy brigade who spin past.
Countouring fun then over t’other side of the road for the dry bridleways – which are so alien we almost get lost! Snicket sniffed out and out by the owl, a few last scraps of off road, then racing back to the pub.
Nasty rash of Peroni affects half the group, unicorn the wiser choice, not a burger in sight as the lure of the extensively excellent menu tempts us all.
Plenty of Birthday boy joshing, irrepressible butty, and familiar conversational themes 😉
Is this the sign of things to come? Welcome back El Pud
