conditions : Dry, sunny, warm….with a cool wind on the tops.

Stats : one very long ride ..25 miles plus, 3,600ft ascent, one undead bride from the 14 th Century, one bad case of chain suck when passing Taxal grave yard (connection ?)

Notes :
It was Eric’s idea….and a very good one IMHO. A big ride on a warm, dry and dusty evening. A classic route with a Butty variation (to pass the Moorside and up to Bowstones) near the end.
A long overdue return to the Viceroy to boot. Marvellous. And the WNB also turned up in Viceroy, with tales of magical rides to be had on “Craken Edge” .

But weirdest of all was our encounter with “the undead” in the form of Marishka, bride of Dracula, encased in a glass conffin, restrained by crossbow bolts dipped in holy water, and laid to rest in a Skull Encrusted Volvo Hearse!!
