Weather : awful again…wet and cold, lots of standing water
Route : just enough to warrant cocktails and beer..
Barracks La, zig zags , old Buxton rd track , chazza, Narnia…cocktail bar one …Leathers ( no stop) ..across back of reservoir to cocktail bar two …then Church house.

Sadly PTD and Stuntus Doublus had gone down with Man Flu, but Slim returned determined to make up for his Pre Chrimbo, norovirus-enforced diet of the previous weekend.
Butty was the outright winner of the ” spirit of the Xmas Ride” award, appropriately Santa-suited and with fully illuminated bike.
A huge turn out..16 Plus. Four more by the time we got to the CH. Excellent to be joined by veteran TNR riders like Neville , as well as our heritage members like the Doog, coley and Croxy 🙂
Dentist succession planning, plus the newly acquired academic skills in alcohol production :-), meant that the refreshments leadership vacuum ( or is that aspirator?) had been ably filled by young Sean. Two cocktail stops , and a variety of colours and flavours were served up. The biggest line of listerine cups every laid out on a forest bench ?

It was almost a placebo of a ride…but soon we were at the CH who provided very good service, with lashings of wassale and reindeer
