Van assist was pulled together to get The Butty Mobile with TJ &amp; Me &amp; our steeds to Pym Chair . Troll picked up Smiffy in the gas van of grime ?.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We arrive at the car park within a minute of the troll mobile . Hastily bikes are unpacked and multiple layers are donned because it\u2019s chuffing cold and blowing a hoolie from the West .&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/maccaustinsorguk\/54883774340\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"20251027Screenshot 2025-10-27 at 14.36.24\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54883774340_f3a563cf12_z.jpg\" width=\"514\" height=\"640\" alt=\"20251027Screenshot 2025-10-27 at 14.36.24\"\/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>Bizarrely Smiffy pulls his acoustic hardtail out of the van . Not what any of us were expecting. Is this a team morale boosting move for the Troll &amp; me ( the acoustic Leffe twins) ? Nope , he just forgot to put his e-steed on charge early enough.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We head off downhill and eastward on the track which lies immediately to the left of The Street. Butty &amp; Troll are quickly a distance ahead .&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We have just about gained some shelter from that fierce westerly when we reach the hole in the fence which marks the entrance to the Ratboy created trail &#8211; a descent through Hoo Moor Woods into a lord of the rings type of scene , treacherous routes over treacherous roots . Big log ramps that have been cut with a chainsaw , its about half rideable for us mere mortals&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/maccaustinsorguk\/54883704363\/in\/album-72177720329934027\" title=\"20251023iPhone 14 ProiPhone 14 Pro back triple camera 6.86mm f-1.78IMG_3516\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54883704363_4c633900fa_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" alt=\"20251023iPhone 14 ProiPhone 14 Pro back triple camera 6.86mm f-1.78IMG_3516\"\/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>We arrive unscathed, with a quiet sense of achievement. Now it is off piste tracks and fire\u00a0 tracks through the giant woods.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a load of mushrooms at our feet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/maccaustinsorguk\/54883731129\/in\/album-72177720329934027\/\" title=\"20251023DK10IMG_20251023_191701_196\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54883731129_21105c6a6f_z.jpg\" width=\"480\" height=\"640\" alt=\"20251023DK10IMG_20251023_191701_196\"\/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>The trees are giants here &#8211; much bigger than Macc forest.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>( Here is a link to some good drone footage of this area which TJ &amp; Butty created earlier this year : <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/DNZFsxGt-iE?si=nACrIxg3Mj8Fg6tC\">xx<\/a>) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We arrive down on the Midshires Way fire road . Back in 1991 this fire road was one of my first bits of off road riding.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/maccaustinsorguk\/54883776470\/in\/album-72177720329934027\" title=\"20251023DK10IMG_20251023_194500_741\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/54883776470_b51ed3e0f3_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" alt=\"20251023DK10IMG_20251023_194500_741\"\/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>Butty leads us lower down , closer to the Fernilee reservoir , on a seriously steep and loose incline . We then head back towards the Errwood dam ..and a big winch of a ride back to the vans.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some spirited driving from Butty gets us to spoons Poynton in no time.
