There is something particularly desolate about being up high on a dark moonlit night . It always feels like a proper ride.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/maccaustinsorguk\/53291854265\/in\/album-72177720312324846\/\" title=\"Headed for Danebower Hollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53291854265_3cfacd9050_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" alt=\"Headed for Danebower Hollow\"\/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>Chumby is rough as hell now &#8211; especially&nbsp; between the A54 and the waterfall &#8211; you really have pick your line and watch the deep ditch-like bits.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At Nessit benches we gather to share in a dram : the payload of Bunnabhain (pronounced <em>Bun-a-haavan<\/em> I believe) I have brought . A little toast to an anniversary. I have been a gentleman of leisure now for five years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/maccaustinsorguk\/53298458266\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"20231030-WhatsApp Image 2023-10-26 at 23.05.47.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53298458266_902b93abba_z.jpg\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" alt=\"20231030-WhatsApp Image 2023-10-26 at 23.05.47.jpg\"\/><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>A special thanks to Dr S &#8211; as the malt was a gift from him (and his good lady) for my 60th.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We get our normal warm welcome in the Leathers . Beers of choice are Guinness (Inc 3sheds ! Even though it ain\u2019t&nbsp; lager) &amp; Neck Oil .&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Salmon salad seems to be the choice of the majority , except for El Pres and my bad self . Much as I like salad , deep fried Haddock and some hefty chips just seems to be the right answer after a decent circuit on the hill .&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other observations: John the landlord suggests I have a look of The Viking about me. I feel this may be a fair cop, as I am a little bearded and hirsute . And I originate from a place with loads of Norse heritage ( all the villages have names which end in -by, a Viking naming convention for a settlement).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The inevitable axis of evil comes to pass. I give John carte blanche on whisky choice \u2026 and he comes back with a bottle of ..
