{"id":4530,"date":"2021-05-17T16:48:01","date_gmt":"2021-05-17T16:48:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/android-finder.co.uk\/?p=4530"},"modified":"2021-05-18T20:50:58","modified_gmt":"2021-05-18T20:50:58","slug":"tnr-13-05-2021-whisky-galore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/android-finder.co.uk\/?p=4530","title":{"rendered":"TNR 13-05-2021 Whisky galore"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/maccaustinsorguk\/51188765309\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"20210513-IMG_3159.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51188765309_22e25a66be_c.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"800\" alt=\"20210513-IMG_3159.jpg\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Words by Alex, Photos by Pete <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Multiple groups from: El Pres, Slim, Butty, 3 Sheds, Troll, Stunt, Dr S, Croxy, Doog, Lee, G, Dunc, TJ<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Early riders route: RB, Endon House, Steps up to Kerridge ridge, Trig point, corner of Lidgetts lane, Bull Hill, Walker Barn, Charity, Extension, Standing Stone, Nessit Hill, Bobs bench, Kings Head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Conditions: Not that warm, but not that cold, overcast, mostly dry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An earlier 5:30 start at rainbow bridge naturally split us into several groups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El Pres on post ride logistics at the Kings Head &#8220;2 sided tents&#8221; with firepits special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/maccaustinsorguk\/51188208683\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"20210513-IMG_3129.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51188208683_cb73398b28_c.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" alt=\"20210513-IMG_3129.jpg\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>The route there to include an RV with the Doog for a belated birthday dram.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Butty arrived on the E, and much speculation about whether it would get up the Kerridge steps ( 3 Sheds on non E did better!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Good to do Kerridge &#8220;the wrong way&#8221;, and the descent to the former shonky gate of Cheshire worth it (although it almost did for El Pres&#8217;s watch!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/maccaustinsorguk\/51187290452\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"20210513-IMG_3141.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51187290452_c61267ffd0_c.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"527\" alt=\"20210513-IMG_3141.jpg\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>Long slog up to the new road, and a very fancy old OS spot height marker has been hiding in plain sight on the Corner of Bull Hill lane at the top. More upwardsness to Charity, a failed RV with Lee, and time to appreciate the delicate bilberry flowers as we regroup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Too much chatting by the downhill specialists leads to some close pass overtaking at speed down Chazza, but no incidents! Extension loose and rocky, and Stunt has a dab after hitting a large one!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The joys of the light mean you can see the trail far ahead, which is good for getting up speed for the S Bends \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A quick pat of Dans bench, before route of your choice to Bobs bench.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/maccaustinsorguk\/51188764884\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"20210513-IMG_3154.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51188764884_5c26b613b1_c.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" alt=\"20210513-IMG_3154.jpg\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>The Doog handing out very generous glasses of Bowmore, and wonderful stuff it was too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>G &amp; Dunc arrived having managed to lose TJ just a couple of minutes before hand (he was found, and no French motorways involved this time!) Lee also found us too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/maccaustinsorguk\/51189058060\/in\/dateposted-public\/\" title=\"20210513-IMG_3166.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/51189058060_de5fc42932_c.jpg\" width=\"800\" height=\"684\" alt=\"20210513-IMG_3166.jpg\"><\/a><script async src=\"\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n\n\n\n<p>Whisky bottle empty, time to head downhill for the Kings Head 8:30 cutoff!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The King&#8217;s Head was a revelation . Customer service on another level ! Food and beer arrive very quickly and we are constantly checked to see if we need more beer.
