Route: <\/strong>Windmill- Sugar Lane- Pott Shrigley Rd- To the chapel- Reverse chapel- Ascent of Bakestone Dale Moor to Dale Top –\u00a0 Ski on bike descent – Birchencliffe route out- Road through Pott Shrigley to Bolly and the Vale<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conditions :<\/strong> sub zero from the outset- ice and drifting snow<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notes : <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A TNR first – we start with a rendezvous (& a half, thanks Bern !) at the Windmill<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A \u201cButty Production\u201d\/\u201cButty is Route-master\u201d event with a Vale-finish-pre-order-the-pie structure\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Snow was drifting before the reverse Chapel ascent\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ascent to Dale Top was Butty idea and pushing the boundaries of wisdom\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inner voices were saying … \u201cwhat the f*ck are we doing ?\u201d \u2026fortunately we ignored them !\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Calvados was our reward at the top (thanks Butty) where it was blowing a hoolie .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then a mad ski run down\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arriving at the Vale we have the Corner table next to the\u00a0 big fire ! Result\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food arrives- Pie tastic\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chris Palmer tastes beer again<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ribaldry Twins arrive late but deliver their customary insights and mirth. Kerridge ridge has been found to be crunchy.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pete has even slower (than normal) ride home due to being stuck in the granny ring because his front mech was jammed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quotes \u201c Bernard<\/strong> : …… final thought on last night ….. if we ever do a TNR across the Antarctic, I suggest Butty leads us. He won’t take us the easy way round but it’ll be a good laugh in the pub after – in the highly unlikely event we get there!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
